Consignment Policy

Consignment Appointment Hours:

Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  (Appointment Only)

March - May:  We accept spring consignments.

May - July:  We accept summer consignments.

August - October:  We accept fall consignments.

October - February:  We accept winter consignments: This is when we take winter coats, hats, and gloves.

You may bring in one consignment each 60 days (the "consignment period"), with a maximum of twenty (20) items per household. The items must arrive in ready-to-sell condition. We will look through your items while you wait and give you back anything we don't feel we can sell.

The Designer Consignor will set the initial selling price, however items are subject to markdowns.

We will have your items priced and your itemized list posted on our website under the "consignor login" section within two weeks after the date you brought your consignment in.

We may choose to sell some consigned items in our eBay store. You receive 40% of the selling price of the merchandise sold at the end of the 60 day consignment period. There are no additional fees.

After the consignment period, you have the option of picking up any unsold merchandise within 14 days or donating it. During the 14 day pick-up period items are reduced to 50% off the initial price. All merchandise not picked up within 14 days of the end of the consignment period become the property of The Designer Consignor and may be donated to charity.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for men's, women's, and juniors clothing and accessories. We do not discriminate based on the label (or lack of a label) as long as it is stylish and in flawless condition. We take in what we believe will sell best in our store.  Newer fashions always sell better.

We will take women's sizes up to XL or size 16. We accept men's clothing in all sizes. We also accept fine and costume jewelry, purses, wallets, shoes and furs.  We do not take men's or women's pleated pants, unless they are part of a suit.

We ask that clothing items come in freshly laundered or dry cleaned and accessories must also be in clean, ready to sell condition.

We do not take bridal gowns or children's clothing.

Tips for a successful consigning experience:

Look through your items before you bring them in. The point of the 20 item limit is so you bring 20 items that you think are outstanding! We now have over 5000 consignors, so think of all the things that come into the store in a single day and bring us your 20 best items!

Please don’t bring your shoes in shoe boxes unless they are designer shoes that might be sold best in our eBay store.

Designer items (i.e. purses) must be authentic.  It is illegal to sell knock-off designer purses regardless of whether we know it is a knock-off or not, so please be 100% sure that the item you are bringing in is authentic.

Items that are wrinkle and lint free sell the best. We don’t do any prep work so please have your items in this condition when you bring them in.

Remember that we only keep things in the store for two months. Think about what months your items will be in the store. If it is something that will sell at Christmas time or New Years, for example, bring it in late October.  Furs should arrive in early November.  Prom dresses in March.

If you are uneasy about consigning your items, please stop in and check out our store! A quick visit will show you the types of merchandise we offer and our pricing.

Please keep in mind that most of our high-end items won’t be on the floor as we sell these online.

If you have any questions, please just call or e-mail us.  We will be happy to help!
